If you’re looking for a rustic, vintage, country style location for your wedding day - then I’d like to introduce you to the perfect venue.
I have to admit that I fell in love with The Grove Cottage from the first moment that I saw it advertised on Facebook and, since then, I’ve been ITCHING to get out there to capture the country beauty and vintage vibes.
Thankfully, the best thing of all about this venue is that you can check it out beforehand! The Grove Cottage is also an Airbnb venue, so if you aren’t sure that you want to take the plunge for your wedding day, you can book a night away with your partner and ‘feel the serenity’ for yourself.

The Grove Cottage, Boonah
The Grove Cottage, situated on Olive View Estate, is the perfect place to start your wedding day. With enough bedding for the wedding party to have one big sleepover the night before the wedding, you’ll love waking up to breathtaking views over the Scenic Rim.
The Scenic Rim
It’s important to remember to drink lots of water this morning, and have a good breakfast, but remember not to let the day get away from you. Take your tea or coffee outside, step away from everyone, and take some deep breaths. Today of all days is a day to practice mindfulness, even if that isn’t something you normally practice. Listen to the birds and the wind, and take a moment to feel the sun on your skin. This day will never come again, so drink it in.
Not long after you come inside, your hair and make-up artist will arrive and the excitement will really kick into gear. There is a flurry of activity as everyone starts lining up. Your photographer and videographer arrive at lunchtime (how is it lunchtime already?), and the next few hours fly as more people start arriving. Your Mum and Dad first, and then your partners’ parents. Your Nan and Pop arrive a little bit before the ceremony because they won’t stay late tonight. You glance at the clock and it's only an hour to go! It’s time to get dressed. The photographer finds the perfect spot in the house to capture the moment - the lighting is just right today. Once you’re dressed, everyone starts heading outside to the ceremony location. You know your partner is there now and you’re a bundle of excited nerves. It’s time to go!
Mind your heels! Safety first - hold onto that rail.
At the bottom of the stairs, your maid (or man!) of honour hands you the bouquet. Your Dad takes your arm and your photographer urges you to pause - stop, they say. Take a breath. Feel your nerves and enjoy them. Savour this moment.
Then the music starts, and you know it's’ time.
Walking down the aisle
That first look!
Before you know it - it’s time to walk back down the aisle with your new husband or wife! Congratulations on this big, exciting step that you get to take with your favourite person in the world.
After the ceremony and the family photos, it’s time to take some photos together! Now is the moment to take another deep breath; hold your partner's hand and look at the world around you. Trust your photographer and videographer to do their thing and, before you know it, it’s time to PARTY.
Did someone say cake smash?!
Once the cake smash is over, and everyone has eaten, danced, and partied the night away, you and your partner finish the night with the sparkler exit you’ve been imagining since you first saw a photo of it on Instagram. Once that is over, the guests start heading home. You and your new husband or wife look at each other, tired but also somehow wide awake. It’s time to kick off the dancing shoes, drink some more water (stay hydrated!), and collapse into bed at the beautiful cottage. You’ve got two more nights here, so you don’t have to worry about getting home. Instead, tomorrow you get to wake up on your first day of married life to the aptly named Scenic Rim.
